Learning Stretch Goal

Every 6-12 months I challenge myself to a unique learning goal: something that is not necessarily related to a need for work or in my personal life, but also something that is still indirectly beneficial.

Current Learning: Learning German !

Continuing to learn German - which came in handy on our recent trip in Europe. I’m currently half way through Level 4 on Pimsleur, and have a German tutor I meet with twice per week.

Excited to put it to use again, as my next trip is almost entirely in German-speaking countries.

Also Learning

Work

I have spent the last three years as a Client Partner at an AI Consulting Firm. Every day, having conversations with clients on bleeding edge AI-related adventures!

MN Chaser

  • I launched MN Chaser site earlier this year.
  • Unfortunately, we haven’t been able to make it out chasing much this year much.

Artificial Intelligence

Agents

Playing with Claude Code , specifically ‘subagents’ and Gemini CLI

This is beyond AWESOME when you connect agents to Obsidian , my go-to notetaking app (stores the markdown files locally).

”Vibe Coding” is actually useful

Vibe Coding - development that leverages AI to automate parts of the coding process. It’s characterized by focusing on the overall intent of the project and allowing AI tools to handle the syntax and structure

I am not an engineer by trade and am therefore not worried (initially) about production grade things. I have found sites like v0, Replit, etc. very valuable in accelerating prototypes and ideas.

  • I do most of my development in WezTerm (terminal).
  • I run Neovim as the editor, using LazyVim pre-config.
  • Playing more with Replit and other similar tools for prototyping app ideas
